The Plasma Antidiuretic Activities in the Pregnancy, Labor and Postpartum

Abstract
The studies herein reported were undertaken to. determine the plasma antidiuretic activities of women in full term pregnancy, in labor, in immediate postpartum and postpartum first, second and third day.
Experimental bioassay was carried out by method of Barnes and Birnie¢¥s technique.
The results were summarized as follows:
1. The plasma antidiuretic activities in experimental obstetrical cases showed higher antidiuretic activities than normal saline injected control group.
2. In women of normal full term, in labor and in immediate postpartum period,, there was no considerable difference in the plasma antidiuretic activities.
3. In women of . first postpartum day, the plasma antidiuretic activities decreased slightly, but in second and third postpartum day, the activities decreased significantly.
4. The antidiuretic. activities were much higher in preeclamptic cases than the normal pregnancy.
